Update May 2026
Exciting things are coming to Ferndale Park!
The Ferndale Spray Pad and Playground Design is well underway!
Inspired by the many beautiful beaches along Lake Erie, the concept design is based on the idea of a “Breakwater” — bringing together water, play, shade, and gathering spaces into one cohesive experience.
The design will feature:
💧 An engaging spray pad experience
🛝 A connected playground for all ages and abilities
🌳 New trees and comfortable seating areas
⛱️ A central shade structure for gathering and relaxation
Designed with accessibility, play, and community in mind, the new Ferndale Park will offer something for everyone.
Construction is anticipated to begin later summer/fall 2026.
Bertie Centennial (Ferndale) Park -- Community Engagement
Ferndale Park is one of Fort Erie's most frequented Community Parks. Located at 865 Ferndale, Ave Fort Erie, the current park features a playground, spray pad, sports facilities and a washroom building.
Ferndale Park will be undergoing some exciting upgrades and we are looking for your input!
The following projects are scheduled:
The playground equipment at Bertie Centennial (Ferndale) Park will be replaced with new equipment that meets the requirements of the Canadian Standards Association and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. The new play equipment will be located in generally the same location as the existing equipment, will provide a variety of features for users 2 to 12 years of age, and will be inclusive and accessible to all.
You're Invited to Help Choose the New Playground Design!
We want your input—especially from the children who will enjoy the new playground the most! Two playground design concepts have been created, and we’d love to hear which one you prefer.
