Park Context

The park located at 2973 Hyman Avenue is situated within the Thunder Bay neighbourhood. It encompasses approximately 0.92 hectares and is surrounded by low-density residential housing. The park contains a Class C soccer field, a baseball diamond, a Class B basketball court, and tennis/pickleball courts, as well as an existing playground with shade trees around the perimeter of the site.

Park Design

The park improvements include the installation of an asphalt pathway connecting the parking lot to the playground and the basketball/tennis courts, the relocation of park benches and the bike rack, the installation of a concrete curb around the play area, and the installation of a new playground with shade trees.

The construction of the park is scheduled to commence in late spring 2026 with completion anticipated by summer 2026
