Ott Road Bridge Replacement Project (BRIG20) between West Main Street and Fox Road.

There are available detour routes so construction will proceed with Ott Road closed for the duration of the project. The detour roads are Ott Road, south of West Main Street, Bowen Road, Point Abino Road, and Fox Road.

Construction is expected to start July 19, 2021 and all work must be completed and the roadway opened to normal traffic by November 26, 2021.

The new bridge will be a single-span reinforced concrete slab-on-steel girder bridge, with new integral abutments supported on H-pile foundations behind the existing abutments.

The existing abutments and wing walls will be retained to eliminate any in-water work. New reinforced concrete parapet walls with railings will be installed over the bridge structure. New steel beam guide rails and energy attenuating end treatments will be installed at the four corners of the bridge. The design will also allow for future sidewalk construction on either side of the bridge.

Budget: $1,565,000

UPDATE: December 3, 2021

Our contractor's current schedule is to pour concrete for the parapet walls this week and then install deck water proofing and asphalt the following week...there will likely be some weather delays so asphalt placement is expected towards the end of December.

The reason for the delay has been partly weather and but mostly due to the bridge girder steel arrival on site being almost a month and half past the original planned date. Contractor has been doing what they can to expedite things, such as working on Saturdays.
