Welcome to Let&#39;s Talk Fort Erie, the Town&#39;s online engagement site designed to give you an opportunity to tell us what you think!

The entire Town road network is inspected and rated every 2 years by Town Engineering staff or a pavement engineering consultant to provide updated Pavement Condition Index (PCI) information. Road sections are inspected and rated using a pavement evaluation system developed by the Ministry of Transportation and widely adopted at all levels of road management.The updated pavement condition data is uploaded to a computerized road maintenance decision making program that evaluates each road section based on condition, traffic volume, road classification, road type and various community factors such as school zones, transit routes, and medical facility locations.The decision-making program provides an initial list of candidate roads which are then "ground-truthed' by Town Engineering staff to confirm the acceptability of each road section for resurfacing. Town staff also ensure that the resurfacing list aligns with other capital works plans (watermain and sewer construction project) to ensure efficiencies and to avoid project overlap.Annual Roads Repair ProgramIn order to maximize the dollars committed to the Roads Resurfacing program, Town Council approves the annual budget early in the year; thus, allowing for early tendering and favourable pricing.Every year the Town solicits bids through quotations or tenders for the town-wide annual projects. All projects are awarded annually, some with the option to renew for a second year.

2021 Roads Program

The Bertie Place Watermain Replacement Project area is located along Bertie Place from Dominion Road to Hibbard Street. A risk analysis of this area was conducted through the Town&#39;s Asset Management Plan.The results of the risk analysis showed that that this section of Bertie Place (about 210m) required the following work:<ul><li>Replacement of the existing 100 mm diameter cast iron watermains with 150 mm diameter PVC watermain, including replacement of all services up to/including curb stops at the property line.</li><li>Replacement and extension of the existing 200mm diameter asbestos cement sanitary sewers including maintenance holes and services to the property line.</li><li>Improvements to the stormwater drainage works.</li><li>Full reconstruction of the road with shoulders.</li></ul>Please review the documents included on the right hand side of this page and complete the survey. Bertie Place Watermain Replacement

The Town is currently looking at Winger Road bridge (S047B), which provides a two lane wide crossing of Winger Road over Black Creek Municipal Drain.Through the Town&rsquo;s bridge inspection program, the Winger Road structure has been identified as in need of repair or replacement. To this end, the Town has retained R.V. Anderson Associates Ltd to address these Study Objectives:<ol><li style="text-align: justify;">The need to repair or replace the deteriorating Winger Road Bridge, as identified by recent bridge inspections Winger Road traffic operations and safety</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Roadway drainage and stormwater management</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Structure hydraulic capacity</li></ol>Virtual Public ConsultationDue to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town is moving away from traditional, in-house, public consultations and is transitioning to host our Public Consultations online. This online public consultation provides residents with the opportunity to provide feedback about the results of the study conducted as well as the preliminary recommended solution applicable to Winger Road Bridge (S047B).A question submission period will open until Friday, January 8, 2021.

Winger Road Bridge - Stevensville

The Lakeside Road Reconstruction project area is located along Lakeside Road from Phillips Street to Dominion Road. A risk analysis of this area was conducted through the Town&#39;s Asset Management Plan.The results of the risk analysis showed that that this section of Lakeside Road (about 1045m) required the following work:<ul><li>Replacement of the existing 150 mm diameter cast iron watermain with 150 mm diameter PVC watermain, including replacement of all services up to/including curb stops,</li><li>Improvement to the stormwater drainage works, including new storm sewer for semi-urban road cross section,</li><li>Replacement of the existing 200 mm diameter AC sanitary sewer, including replacement/relining of laterals up to property limits,</li><li>Full reconstruction of Lakeside Road from Phillips Street to Dominion Road with shoulders,</li><li>New streetlights, as required,</li><li>New sidewalk.</li></ul>Please review the documents included on the right hand side of this page and complete the survey. Lakeside Road Reconstruction

This project encompasses the full road reconstruction of Sunset Drive, Gilmore Road and Bowen Road. Also included in the scope of work is clearing, grubbing, culvert replacement and roadside ditching.
