Construction sign.

The High Street Watermain Replacement Project area is located in the Bridgeburg section of Fort Erie that extends from Idylewylde Street in the north to Catherine Street in the south.

The Water Distribution System Master Plan completed in April 2017 recommended the replacement of the existing 150mm diameter Asbestos Cement watermain within the short term (0-10 years). The results of the Water Distribution System Master Plan showed that replacement of the existing watermain will have a positive effect on water quality.

The Town’s Asset Management plans risk analysis showed that this section of High Street (Approximately 250m) requires the following work:

  • Replacement of the existing 150mm diameter Asbestos Cement watermain with 150mm PVC watermain, including replacement the existing fire hydrants and all services up to/including curb stops at the property line.
  • Replacement of the existing 200mm diameter Asbestos Cement Sanitary sewer with 200mm diameter PVC Sanitary Sewer including maintenance holes and services to the property line.
  • Replacement of the existing 300mm diameter CSP Storm sewer with 300mm and 350mm diameter PVC Storm Sewer including the maintenance holes.
  • Full reconstruction of the road with shoulders.
