The Idylewylde Street Watermain and Sanitary Sewer Replacement and Road Reconstruction project area is located in the Bridgeburg section of Fort Erie that extends from Mary Street to Gilmore Road.

The Water Distribution System Master Plan, completed in April 2017, recommended the replacement of the existing 150mm diameter watermain within the short term (0-10 years). The results of the Water Distribution System Master Plan showed that replacement of the existing watermain will have a positive effect on water quality.

The Town’s Asset Management Plan risk analysis showed that this section of Idylewylde Street (Approximately 950m) requires the following work:

• Replacement of the existing 150mm diameter cast iron watermain with 150mm PVC watermain, including replacement the existing fire hydrants and all services including curb stops at the property line.

• Replacement of the existing 225mm and 300mm diameter AC sanitary sewer with 300mm and 375mm diameter PVC Sanitary Sewer including maintenance holes and services to the property line.

• Replacement of the existing 375mm diameter concrete storm sewer with 300mm, 475mm diameter PVC storm sewer including maintenance holes between Columbus Drive and Gilmore Road. Installation of new 600mm diameter concrete storm sewer and maintenance holes on Columbus Drive and addition repairs and improvements to the stormwater system and drainage within the project area.

• Full reconstruction of the road, curb and sidewalks.
