The Ontario government accepted applications for investment funding under the Ontario Municipal Modernization Intake 2 Program. The program was initiated to support the modernization of small and rural municipalities across the province. The investment is designed help improve the delivery of critical programs and services that people rely on every day, while saving taxpayers’ dollars.

Financial Systems
The Town of Fort Erie was advised its application was approved in the summer of 2021. In accordance with the requirements of this program, the Town has conducted a financial systems review, facilitated by GM BluePlan Engineering, Ltd., to improve service delivery by identifying potential opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
Based on the findings of this review, functional requirements and resourcing requirements were identified and an implementation plan and roadmap were developed for the modernization of the Town’s existing Financial systems and processes.
