The Town of Fort Erie has initiated engineering design for the Bowen Road Watermain Replacement Project. The Bowen Road Watermain Replacement project is located in the north end of the Bridgeburg community on the east side of the Town of Fort Erie along the shores of the Niagara River. The project area is located along Bowen Road from Central Avenue to Niagara Boulevard.

A risk analysis of this area was conducted through the Town's Asset Management Plan.

The results of the risk analysis recommended the replacement of the existing 100mm diameter cast iron watermain along Bowen Road from Central Avenue to Niagara Boulevard.

The general scope for this project includes the following:

  • Replacement of the existing 100 mm diameter cast iron watermain with 150 mm diameter PVC watermain, including replacement of all services up to/including curb stops
  • Replacement of the existing 450 mm diameter vitrified clay sanitary sewer with new PVC Sanitary Sewers including replacement of all lateral services up to property limits
  • Full road reconstruction with reinstatement of granular shouldering
  • Spot repairs to existing sidewalks along the South side of Bowen Road
