Through the 2020 Capital Budget process Council approved $150,000 in funding to replace the existing playground equipment in Ridgeway Lions Park, in order to meet the requirements of the AODA and CSA Standard Z614:20.

An assessment of the playground has revealed deteriorating components and significant drainage issues. The playground will be replaced with new equipment that meets the requirements of the Canadian Standards Association and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

The new playground will be located on the West side of the park, increasing visibility and safety. The play equipment will provide a variety of features for users 2 to 12 years of age, and will be inclusive and accessible to all.
