In response to the Public Information Centre held for the Point Abino Road South Reconstruction and Shoreline Protection program, we have heard from the residents that use Point Abino Road South about their concerns.
Taking your feedback into consideration, staff will be placing temporary surface treatment on about 500 meters of Point Abino Road South. The Town has made this decision to ensure improved road conditions throughout the summer; ensuring residents, businesses and associations have adequate road access, until such time that the, permanent, capital works can commence.
In addition, since we’ve been gifted with favourable weather this week, the Town will be moving forward with our Surface Treatment Contractor with immediate effect. This work will be completed over three days as noted below.
· Pulverizing, Compaction and Grading of the Existing Road Base – Scheduled for Wednesday May 10th, 2023
· Placement of a 50 mm layer of Granular Material atop Road Base – Scheduled for Thursday May 11th, 2023
· Placement of Double Surface Treatment utilizing Class 1 Aggregate – Scheduled for Friday May 12th, 2023
