The Town of Fort Erie (Town) has identified the area north and south of Townline Road between Netherby Road and the QEW as a development area and wishes to determine the preferred approach to service the area with water, sanitary and stormwater. The proposed servicing will need to consider existing and proposed development consistent with Town and Regional standards.
The project area is within the Stevensville/Douglastown wastewater collection system. However, as the municipal sanitary servicing does not extend to all homes in the Town’s urban boundaries, no sanitary or stormwater systems are currently in place on the north side of Townline Road. Water servicing within the project area is available via an existing local Watermain owned by the Town.
The Town of Fort Erie has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to evaluate and select preferred solutions to service the study area.
The proposed solutions will be evaluated and prioritized considering natural, cultural, technical and economic environment, and the preferred solution will be selected in consultation with regulatory agencies and the public.
PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE
Public consultation to collect feedback on the proposed solutions is an important component of the project. Therefore, the Town of Fort Erie is requesting public input to identify options to address the study findings and optimize the evaluation process. A Public Information Centre is being held to gather input from stakeholders. All those interested in the project are invited to attend the Public Open House. The Public Information Centre No. 1 will be held on:
