Why does the Town need a new fire station?
By amalgamating two fire stations 4 and 6, the Town of Fort Erie will save on future capital maintenance costs related to a reduction of fire apparatuses.
How will this investment impact taxes?
This capital project of $6.6M is being funded with a mix of financing sources, some of which are existing and others are incremental to taxes. The budgeted $4.05M in debt will add $438K/year to the Town's tax levy for 10 years but will be offset by $90K/year in expected operational savings and also benefit from the $200K/year in Central Fire Station debt expiring in 2023.

This new station will be located off Ridge Road North between Frances St. and Rebstock Rd.
