The King Street Reconstruction project area is located in the Gateway Neighbourhood of Fort Erie that extends from Garrison Road (Niagara Regional Road 3) in the north to Albany Street the south.

The timing of the project is driven by the Gilmore Lodge redevelopment located at the Northeast limits of the King Street project, as well as the developments located at the Southeast limits on King Street to Albany Street.

The King Street Reconstruction project upgrade was identified in the 2019 Development Charges Background Study.

The general scope of work for this project includes a full reconstruction and upgrade of the existing road section to an urban cross-section including installation of watermain, sanitary sewers and storm sewer infrastructure, new sidewalks and concrete curb and gutter.

Virtual Public Consultation

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town is moving away from traditional, in-house, public consultations and is transitioning to host our Public Consultations online. This online public consultation provides residents with the opportunity to review the associated documents relating to the project and provide feedback on this project prior to construction.

A question submission period will open from Monday, August 21, 2023 to Thursday, August 31, 2023.
